Requirement:
Achieve full efficiency of production processes and order management.
Solution:
MES software to organize the job order by individual activities, resources used and workloads.
Job order management can be complex if you do not have a clear view of costs and margins. Atlanta Stretch has succeeded in making automated machine order management efficient with Portant 4.0 management software
Atlanta Stretch Spa, established in 2005 in Poggio Torriana (RN), specializes in the design and manufacture of automatic and semi-automatic machines for wrapping palletized loads with stretch film.
The company has experienced strong and rapid growth in recent years, requiring the expansion of the production site, which, as of today, covers an area of 11,000 square meters.
Atlanta Stretch spa is strongly focused on innovation and the continuous search for increasingly high-performance technological solutions to ensure maximum efficiency and quality for its customers.
Need
The company’s production system is based on the individual job order: in fact, starting from the basic model, each wrapping machine is designed and customized to the customer’s specific needs.
Atlanta Stretch was looking for management software that would provide accurate production information in order to have real-time monitoring of the progress of projects and to make a timely accounting of job costs that could be compared with forecast data.
With a view to implementing a gradual digitization of processes, the first practical need encountered was the tracking of the timing of individual project processing steps to derive a total account of the time taken by individual departments to complete each job.
Specifically, Atlanta was looking for a management system capable of:
- Monitor the progress of the job order in real time
- Eliminate manual Excel sheet records of employee activities
- Simplify and make automatic the calculation of the total hours of each job order
The solution: production order management software
To meet the needs described and achieve the objectives set, the Portant 4.0 management software, specifically the “job order management” module.

- Perform the discharge of hours per employee and per job order and subcontractor hours on outside work.
Regarding hourly downloading, each employee accesses the software via web browser from the PC in the production area or from the office, using his or her credentials.
To keep tabs on ongoing jobs in real time, the Portant 4.0 software has been integrated with a specially developedvirtual synoptic, which is useful for technical management to have a clear picture graphically of the progress of projects, highlighting any delays and delivery times.
