The goal was to make the purchasing process, logistics and, consequently, the entire production process smoother and faster.

To make its processes more efficient, Manieri Automazioni has adopted two Modula Slim vertical automatic warehouses. These enable it to safely, quickly, and flexibly store materials and components useful for the fabrication of electrical panels. However, although the two machines reduce picking time, one gap remains: synchronization of the company’s ERP database with that of the Modula Slim vertical automatic warehouses.

Prior to Digimark’s intervention, this gap was filled by manually updating the databases of the two machines and the management software, which was very time-consuming and valuable for carrying out strategic and value-based activities.

THE SOLUTION: a software for digitizing operational activities.

Automatic synchronization of the Modula Slim vertical automated warehouse database and the management database via the Data Interchange Module, MID by Digimark.

The MID by Digimark is software used to make any type of machine/plant talk to each other, regardless of the different communication protocol.

For Manieri Automatizioni, after targeted consulting, Digimark customized the MID software so that it could interconnect the two machines/warehouses with the company’s management system.

OPERATION

The MID reads the data in the Modula Slim vertical automated warehouse database at regular intervals and compares it with the data in the management software.

If the data in the Modula and on the management system do not match, the MID detects material and component movements that have not yet been tracked, immediately updating the company’s management program.

The data transfer flow is not only in the Modula versus management direction, but also vice versa. In fact, the MID, with a simple click, makes it possible to insert, in the Modula automated warehouse database, new item master data, already previously loaded in the management system.
