Bora Italy solved its need to regulate the flow of people in the company through Digimark’s Portant 4.0 access control software.
While maximum flexibility in the face of unforeseen events in the external environment was considered an added value until a little over a year ago, it has now become necessary to ensure the survival and development of enterprises. These capacities for adaptation and renewal have resulted in the adoption of digitization strategies that fundamentally change the way business processes are managed. The pandemic has caused us to review and become aware of some daily actions, in the private sphere but especially at work.
The Bora company has launched a new project with Digimark to manage and track the flow of people within its facilities. Operating in the stamping of metal components for the automotive and household appliance sectors, Bora thus continues its transition to Smart factory, which began with the reorganization of the warehouse logistics processes and with the adoption of anti-counterfeiting tools.
In this article we are going to delve into the application of Portant 4.0 software for administrative access control of employees and visitors
Company Entrance – Visitor Access Control
The visitor module of the Portant 4.0 access control software helps manage and track the flow of people in the plant. Upon arrival, the guest fills out the registration form on a tablet. The data is processed by Portant 4.0 software, which sends the input to print a temporary badge, equipped with a unique and personalized QR code, needed to open the access turnstile. At the same time, the internal contact person receives notification of the visitor’s arrival.
The badge automatically loses its validity at the end of the meeting when the visitor leaves the establishment.
Why choose the Portant 4.0 visitor module?
By keeping track of movements in and out of the plant, the software increases the overall level of security by preventing unauthorized parties from entering the plant. It also positively affects the reduction of contagion risk, as it helps in the organization of appointments by ensuring the normal course of work activities, despite the pandemic.
Work in the Attendance Management Company

Not only visitors, Bora has also thought about its employees, integrating access control with administrative attendance management.
Specifically, the turnstile is opened by a badge with RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology, which is synchronized with shift scheduling, so the employee is only allowed to enter if he or she is on the scheduled working hours.
Portant 4.0 access control software, entirely in the cloud and customized for Bora, enables:
- Scheduling and modifying work shifts;
- Avoiding assemblages through staggering of entrances into time slots;
- Easily and correctly calculate overtime hours;
- Manage requests for leave, vacation and sick leave;
- Determine precisely and automatically the amount of hours for payroll formulation.
Of course, personal data collected on visitors and employees are handled and processed in strict compliance with current privacy regulations.
The strengths of Portant 4.0 software are maximum flexibility and customization according to our customers’ needs. The modules are easily integrated with each other and with other management systems already in place.
